Gel Mani: Houndstooth

Wenhao sent me some houndstooth pictures and requested for them to be done in an alternating French tip and half moon base. As I only had two hours to do her soak off and new mani with art, I couldn’t get too intricate with the houndstooth and had to settle for medium-sized prints instead of teeny tiny ones that would have been more of a challenge…

This was done with Angel Pro Gelly Polish in #47 (white) as the base and acrylic paint for the art.

Actually, houndstooth prints are really tedious because of the repeating pattern – it has to be pretty precise to look good, and isn’t quite worth all the effort (and hence the money)… After all, you could probably get the same (or better) effect with the stamping technique, if you can find a stamp template with the houndstooth print!

There are definitely a bunch of stamping plates for houndstooth and similar geometric designs! it’s wonderful that you’re so honest about this. I would advise you/your customers to look on amazon for full image nail stamping plates, they’re bound to turn up pages upon pages of what you’re looking for!
