Carrine came for a fresh coat of Gelish (her previous set, the Marilyn and Michael, lasted four weeks) and opted for a simple gradation this time:
The base was Gelish Ambience – described as a “light pink with shimmer”, but it seems a bit warmer to me, and has a peachy tint to it.
I then sponged on Gelish Sweet Chocolate in several layers. This colour is described as a “frost deep brown”, but it is so much more complex than that. It is a deep brown with a metallic tint to it, and is packed with microshimmer that glints red and greenish-gold. When sponged on, it takes on a burgundy hue, and when applied with a brush, it becomes a deeper chocolate tone.
Together, Ambience and Sweet Chocolate make a great pair – a warm-toned gradation with a bronzy finish, but rich in its iridescent sparkle!
