Sakura Kimono

Awhile back, I bought a fine-tipped brush from PNC Traders for $1.50 and today, I finally put it to good use!

A Sakura design from the May 2011 issue of Nail Up! Magazine caught my eye and I adapted it.

I started with OPI Big Apple Red as the base and then applied Orly Liquid Vinyl over to get the black section (about 2/3 of the nail). Then, I used my Art Club solid gold striper over the dividing line.

Next, I used white acrylic paint for the Sakura blossoms and buds. Finally, I used the same gold striper for the stalks and the centre of the flowers.

I named this Sakura Kimono because it reminds me of the vivid colours and prints of kimonos!
